Moving On

It was been 3 tough months for me.

The Nigerian elections, and the related tension in the polity grounded the economy to a halt. Normally, during elections there seems to be influx of money into the economy.

2015 general elections seems not to have gotten the memo. If money was avaliable, it was not around me. I couldnt close any deal, and couldnt even revover from debtors.
Thanks to Dr Goodluck Jonathan concesssion phone call, the tension was sharply deflated.

In the midst of this madness, I lost my Dad. This was blow on two reasons. One, Losing a parent is traumatic, and then the accompaying burial arrangement is draining, mentally, physically, emotionally and lastly finanacially.

Considering the state of the nation ( and economy), the last took a lot of toll on us.

In spite of this, the we rode it out successfully. Thanks God for his mercies

Few things ticks me off like the "Only in Nigeria" phrase. This is very pertinent in social media, by "critics" to protest one incident or the other.
Its has become so pervasive, that even supposedly enlightened people have joined/leading the bandwagon.

It is more annoying because.

• It cannot be true
• Even if its true (or not), does it make it right?
• It amounts to intellectual laziness

Often, the individual making the statement, seems to make it for the effect, not for any intellectual purpose!

NIS Job Test Charade!

Five things comes to mind after hearing that 7 people died yesterday while trying to write an Exam for Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS)

1. We have a serious problem of Unemployment in Nigeria
2. We have very undisciplined youth? Why did "gatecrashers" jump into a hall when they were not invited?
3. The Exam organizers are incompetent and corrupt!
4. One of Minister of Interior or DG NIS should be sacked for this charade..
5. Nobody who respect him/her self should put him/herself through that!

Lastly, I will like to find out from the President and Minister of Finance/Cordinating minister for Econony the qustion US President George Bush asks Head of State

On the private Jet matter

Can everybody just... CHILL.. I mean just cool down..  Abati, APC, propffesional opposition, twitter warlords .. Just chill.

The Private/Presidential jet brouhaha is an example of blowing things out of proportion!

To Abati, the is NO need whatsoever for the Lady to apologise. The was playing and talking in awe. More like hyping the visit.
I dont see anything wrong with that.

To the perpetual Goodluck Jonathan opposition, there is nothing wrong with Nigeria visiting Kenya with seven private jets. The Kenyan lady was not mocking Nigeria in the video, stop lying on every matter, soon people will stop taking you guys serious.

My Kenyan friends were very happy that Nigeria visited with a high level delegation. The Kenyan government was happy to indulge their visitors(Nigerians) so why are people raising unnecessary dust!

You all should just... CHILL

Sonar Eclipse, in Lagos

All scientific evidence is that Nigeria will experience sonar eclipse today (2013-11-03).

My brother (an amateur astronomer... kind of), has been checking all kinds of map. He recommends skyeye over Google Skymap. :)

Enyimba Footbal Club, 2012/13 Season

Enyimba FC (arguable Nigerian most successful club-side) finished the 2012/13 season as League runners up, and Confederation Cup Winners

But the most telling record is NOT conceding ANY home goal!!!! That is 1710 minutes, without conceeding and goal at the home stadium!!!

WHAT A RECORD!!!

Am proud of the team, and hope the represent Nigeria honourable in continental matches.

Abuja to Lokoja in 8hrs

I decided to take a road trip from Abuja to Lagos, instead of flying.

My bus left Abuja by 09.15WAT, and the journey proceed well. Just after crossing River Niger, at 12.00, we met a traffic hold (aka go-slow). It fast went to jam!

Google Maps says its under 3hrs! :(

After waiting for any movement and decided to walk ahead to investigate the problem.

Found out that there was a multi vehicle collision, involving 3 Trucks, and a bus. Even though the road has been cleared by 10.00 today, a massive traffic was caused by Impatience of drivers.

I have noticed that its the main problem on Nigeria roads, impatient on the roads. Turning a single lane into triple or quad lane!
